Chris Wilson
I have seen several calipers scrapped by home drive attempts to get seized ones out. It's not that hard to split the casting. It's VERY EASY to mushroom the ends and have effectively a rivet in the holes in the casting. Constant hammering work hardens the pins, making them even more of a PITA to drill out. I have a jig to hold them on the milling machine table, and this rigid set up allows me to drill an accurately centred and straight hole in the old pins and allow them to be removed. This issue is very coomon and the reason I offer stainless steel replacements pins at £36 plus VAT a full car set. If you find you are getting nowhere, and becoming frustrated with them, stop, or you will find yourself getting to the Toyota parts counter for a new caliper
