Big Mark
I recently gave my engine bay a makeover by painting various parts black and replacing old hoses. Got it back together last weekend but there's an issue. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?321557-Engine-bay-makeover-complete But now it's all back together I've got a fluctuation on idle, with it rising and falling slightly every 2-3 seconds acompanied by a sound from the engine bay doing likewise. Couple of videos here: From the engine bay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXshMshwsYA From the drivers sear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggl363XzA8M Anyone got any ideas? mclarenross
Sounds like a vacuum leak, check all your hoses are on the right places.
Big Mark
I did have every hose off so there is a chance I got it wrong somewhere, especially as I've removed the solid vacuum pipes that sit on top of the turbo pipes. Thanks. I'll see what I can see.
Big Mark
Just noticed this, hopefully this was the cause. Has been repaired a couple of times before so time for a new one I think. What does it actually do?
Attero
That's exactly how mine sounded with a vacuum leak too.
ScottC
Put the car in TTC mode to temporally bypass the broken VSV
berg
That happened to mine except it was the VSV down by the turbo As above you can put it in TTC which will bypass that valve until you get a ne one
Big Mark
Not using the car during the week anyway so I'll see if I can get one by next weekend? Fingers crossed it's this valve causing it and not a vacuum leak somewhere else.
