boostman
I've just found a split in my front bumper in the pic below. It's attached at the top and bottom but the 15cm in between has split. Has anyone ever repaired a bumper? ....without the use of a wood screw.... [emoji12] Would I be able to use this I found on ebay? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=261863928375&alt=web Thanks
JordanC
Would filler not do the trick? layer it on until it fills the split then sand back? I'm not an expert by any means, I'm sure someone else will be along to tell me to shut it
JayJay1374
Mines done the same. Personally if I could be bothered to do anything about it if plastic weld it back together.
Graham1984
On your photo have you taken a bolt out? It looks like there is a bolt hole above the one that's still in there.

Oh ok wasn't sure if the bumper would drop down if the split spread!? I think I'll try that glue then as it's like a plastic weld, flexible where as filler would crack. The bolt was already out, must have dropped out? [emoji50] haha
Graham1984
Try and source a stock bolt, surely that pulls it together (I would think)
Graham1984
It looks like a seem as well. The combination of no top bolt and the unique flat uk roads has probably made it pull apart. Does the other side look similar like a join in two bits of plastic- albeit with paint over the join?

I see what you mean it is a seam, the other side looks fine (touch wood). Iv ordered that glue, says it's can be sanded and painted and stays flexible so it's worth a shot! boostman
Any luck with this mate? Yeh all fixed now, used some plastic weld glue for gluing bonnet hinges to carbon fibre bonnets! Worked a tread, sanded and painted! Have painted it now, will take a pic in a sec!
boostman
A bit dirty but you get the gist. Hopefully it stays together! [emoji12]
JayJay1374
Looks good mate. Did you bond it from both sides?
boostman
Yeh I opened the gap and squirted glue behind the plastic! I'll look what the glue was!
samgtr
I would remove bumper and epoxy bond from inside then like you have done on the outside also.
boostman
Here's the link! http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=261863928375&alt=web I put quite alot behind the crack, like half of the syringe haha It probably glued the bumper to the wheel arch!
