heat in cabin supra

I have a small problem with heat in the cabin, it takes really long time before i get heat into the cabin when the car is at operating temperature I get a little heat into the cabin, but not at all normal temperature as i should, but if i raise the rpm I can feel it getting hotter but as soon as I leave it idle again, the most off the heat disappears...

I have bleeded the system, flush the system and heater core for dirt ,checked the radiator and everything sits on and no leaking, do i have a worn heater core or????

There's a linkage on the LH side of the heater box, up in the transmission tunnel area inside the car. It's plastic and can come off, it controls the heat flap, symptoms are as you describe.

BTW, I know you are not English, but BOATS and SHIPS have cabins, cars have interiors, you'll have people telling you to close the porthole with talk like that ;)

There have been threads showing the exact location of this linkage in the recent past (last 12 months or so).

Perfect Dunk, just like your Range Rover!

That's the arm that tends to come away and leaves little to ne heat output. It mixes hot and cold air from around or through the matrix, with a flap inside the heater box. You can get someone to operate the temperature knob whilst you see if its doing what it should. Good luck.

the thing i have notice is that the thermostat dont open if the fan is running when the car idle, i have to stop the fan to get the thermostat to open..

i would say that it blow warm air, not hot hot..if i raise the rpm a little i can feel that the air is getting warmere, but as soon as it idle again, some off the warm air disappears again
