Guest drakie
Gents I know this has been covered a few times both drivers and passenger windows not working how much is this likely to cost to get fixed. I am pretty good with most things if it's wires I will be able to sort out but if it's switches or something what sort of cost are these parts and how easy to get hold of. Cheers steve
Gaz6002
Welcome. You've hinted that it's been covered before, which is correct. Most problems have by now, which is why it's always best to use the search function before posting up here
j_jza80
As above. But if you need someone to sort it, you aren't too far away from Whifbitz It should only take them a Moement. chrispot
i will have a check on wiring details regarding pass side problem. have you removed the drivers side trim and checked motor ẃith a test light and the cables/ mechanism is ok, not sure if it's s common problem with the cables jamming, as the car is new to you previous owner could have wedged window up because of broken cable? i would start by taking door card off. regards chris in your first post you said both sides were not working? what has now changed to how it is now? Guest drakie
I've got the door card off had a look at the switch but not used a test light yet mate.the little led in the switch lights up for the drivers switch? And the passenger switch works ok on drivers side do they all have a separate live? Cheer steve
chrispot
found a manual for you to look at, as you will see there is only one fuse for the electric windows. I don't know what you are like at reading wiring diagrams but if you study the diagram you will see that the passenger side window works through the drivers side passenger switch. Regarding the pass side window using the pass side switch it close i would say the pass side switch is faulty, as it works from drivers side proving the negative connections, and only getting live to power window down from pass side and not up. regarding drivers side put a test light on one side of the motor and move switch in both directions and it should light up then do the same on the other wire. if both ok check that both wires on the motor are at ground with no switch operated, if both at ground then i would say motor is faulty, but to confirm unplug motor and put power into wires and see if motor moves, don't forget to reverse wires as you might be trying to move the window up? http://www.internetwork.org.uk/manual/system/windows/windows.htm in your first post you said both sides were not working? what has now changed to how it is now? regards chris. chrispot
it's best to keep to one car per thread when asking for help to fix a problem. as you may be given wrong advice. I would get in touch with keron (extreme performance ) a trader on here regarding motor and switch. your welcome, glad it's sorted. regards chris
Wez
If you have the door card off its easy to check the motor, you can just wire it up to 12v, changing the polarity changes window direction from memory, I had to do this when stripping some doors down that were off the car and partially stripped.
