haz182
Drove the car the other day, full boost, everything was fine. I went for a drive the next day and a distinct lack of power, felt like only one turbo was working (tt UK auto) naturally my first thought was the turbo has gone, but didnt have any smoke or anything when working fine. I've spoken to Lee from srd, who had been most helpful as ever, he has given me some things to test. Testing the exhaust valve tonight. I have a limited knowledge on the tt system, and what I'm looking for etc. Is their anyone localish to me (po22) who would be happy to have a look over? I'll cross their hand with gold as japfest is fast approaching and need it sorted before then! I've looked for cracked pipes etc, it's running ttc mode. Any help would be most greatful. mellonman
do you have a boost gauge and what was it actually showing when you have lack of power , and at what point ? or all the time ?
haz182
I don't have a boost gauge, it's running Syvecs, so I'll plug that in tonight when I go for a drive and see way it says...hear the turbo spoiling up but when it's meant to come onto boost don't get any more power,

I'd look first at the hoses and pipework, my Supra lost boost a few years back and its was a loose hose leading into the throttle body. Simple push on and screw the clip down tighter and fixed. If only all boost issues were as easily fixed.
haz182
Yeah Lee said about that too.. can you post a pic of where and what I'll be looking for regarding the vsv? Cheers for the help

The Raven
Yeah Lee said about that too.. can you post a pic of where and what I'll be looking for regarding the vsv? Cheers for the help Supramatt fixed it. Maybe send him a PM and he can help. My understanding is quite limited but i think mine was making and doing the same as yours when he found it to not be working.
The Raven
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/archive/index.php/t-27904.html I found this. My problem was the IACV When this switches, boost generated by #2 turbo is allowed to join the intake stream When it isn't switched, there is a small flap in the IACV assembly that allows any boost generated by #2 turbo as it prespools to join the intake stream, preventing turbo stall. Problem: I don't get a 2nd turbo rush, it just seems to sit at 0.8bar. The second turbo isn't kicking in. This usually means your IACV isn't opening - the turbo is trying to spin up but can't flow any air, so #1 turbo does all the hard work. The Raven
My bad just seen your running TTC mode. I dont know if that would bypass the IAVC. Someone will be along that knows more than me
haz182
Just to update, after going over every hose... all over the intercooler piping.... checking valves etc. I had no luck. So too the car up too srd. Hour later all sorted.. a pipe had popped off the vacume tank. Put back on and boosting fine again. Though I would update this incase anyone else has this issue. You can't really see the pipe you have to go by feel. Big thanks to Lee as usual!
