berg
As above really i dont see any options for manual or auto from anywhere that sells them I read somewhere autos have a gearbox cooler or something in the rad? Anyone know any options
Big Mark
Yeah auto rads have a section in them that is a gearbox fluid cooler, but you can fit a manual rad and a seperate cooler. I had to replace one years ago and just got a 52mm aluminium auto one on eay from Hong Kong I think it was. No issues at all and looked good. gordy.r
I've just had a Whifbitz alloy rad fitted and a separate SRD gearbox cooler kit as well. It's horses for courses, you have plenty of options available to you whether it be an eBay rad or an OEM one etc, but as long as you've got the cooling for your box retro fitted. I've seen kits on eBay pretty cheap that could be used for the gearbox cooler, I'm sure someone who done similar will be along soon... berg
Ah i see, i was trying to ind a hose or something on the bottom that might have been gearbox related but couldnt see one, ill probs go for a seperate cooler for the box i reckon Mine has a new oem rad which was fitted just before i bought the car but the tabs that the rad cap slot into are chewed so the cap is worrying loose Car makes hissing/bubbling sounds when i switch it off, if i push the top of the cap down the noise stops
Benjy
Try a new cap first dude
berg
Spose i could but its the tabs on the rad that are chewed up Almost looks like the cap hasnt been pushed down enough before turning, several times of that happening has damaged them Ill try on though as that could save a heap of cash With how my engine is currently looking i know if i buy an alloy rad, then ill buy srd fans, then polished pulleys, etc lol

GTR Fever
I'm running a 3-core Mishimoto radiator for manual but using an external transmission oil cooler (also Mishimoto). Works good so far.
Chris Wilson
Just get an OE auto rad, after some professional testing I found they were far more efficient than the two popular aftermarket alloy rads they were tested against. KISS, you never want more hoses and connections than necessary.
Chris Bailey
As Benjy said, try a new rad cap. If its hissing and bubbling its got a leak from the rad cap. What pressure is the rad cap rated at? We run a Whifbitz rad with Mishimoto rad hoses and radiator cap also 2x gearbox coolers. Runs fine at 700bhp even on hot days .
