Dave
ok finally got my bottom oil pan off and this was in the bottom of the pan 1st pic its broken off this 2nd pic im thinking its something to do with oil levels or pressure , do i need to replace it ?? can i repair it will glue or a small screw hold it, can drill a hole in each side and stick,or can i just leave it off . just looked on my cd and its the oil level sensor this black bit moves up/down so im guessing it tells you when the oil is low Edited April 19, 2015 by Dave (see edit history)
Chris Wilson
You can either find an intact used sensor, or buy a new one (££££££££'S), and fit it instead of the one that's gone hard. Over the years hot oil makes the plastic brittle and it breaks, it's a common issue I see more and more. Or leave it as is and hope no more falls off. Or remove it altogether and fabricate a blanking plug (you will probably need access to a machine shop to do it elegantly...).

Scooter
facelift NA's have no oil level sensor so there should be a toyota part out there somewhere for a blanking plate...
