ADD
just had these put on the car as the other had been chewed up in 4k miles due to sub frame being extremely loose! are they any good?
attilauk
they aren't bad, i used to have them on mine. in the dry they are great and do provide a lot of grip if you get em warm but in the wet they can have a tendancy to let go quite early. SkyJawa
Avon road tyres are crap not a patch on the other good makes, track ones are fine
toyotasuprauk
I've got them on the back, and whilst they seem to last very well. Even in my NA I have to drive extra carefully in the wet. I'm probably being over careful but they don't inspire me with confidence.
penguin
what about nexus?
toyotasuprauk
Sorry I've actually got the zz1's at the back. Used to have the ZZ-3's at the front but my tracking was out so had to replace them. ZZ-3's are much better.
SkyJawa
ZZ1's are the worst most dangerous tyre in the history of the world!!! hedge-jumpers. Crap dry grip and non-existent wet grip, simply awful, how they even got away with selling them as sports tyres is beyond me.
ADD
right so possibly stay away from ZZ1 then
chilli
I had a full set of avons (think they might have been zz1's) on my Integrale a while back. They were the worst, most scary tyre I've ever had - so much so I doub't I'll ever buy avon's again!

They were the worst, most scary tyre I've ever had - so much so I doub't I'll ever buy avon's again! This is something I've heard soooooo often. So many on Scoobynet had the same issues there was a massive thread about it! Don't get me wrong, Avon track tyres are pretty good, but their road offerings - well . Especially since they aren't much cheaper than F1's, T1-R, S03 etc............
toyotasuprauk
That's probably why I don't really enjoy driving in the rain then! I think they have loads of grip in the dry though but I guess most tyres do.
