Anyone familiar with Pinto engines with Webers?

I have a Tiger Supercat with a 2.0 Pinto engine, race/rally cam and mildly ported head.

It has Twin Weber 45's and an Aldon Automotive electronic ignition system.

Having rolled it out the garage after not being run for a long time I've discovered it appears to only be running on two cylinders.

I've done the following:

  • Changed plugs
  • New dizzy cap
  • changed leads
  • checked leads in the right place
  • tested cylinder compression
  • checked there is a spark to the non firing cylinders

Looking down the Weber trumpets I can see two small brass pins, on the working cylinders they have drips of fuel. Not on the bad ones.

That got me wondering if the one set of carbs are maybe blocked with stale fuel.

I have an excellent book that goes through setting up and stripping down - but it's really a bit too detailed and way more work than I wanted to do. Ideally I just want to get it running so I can drive it to a RR and get setup properly and service the Webers.

Any ideas where is best to start?

Could it be something else I've missed?
