Yet another PC question. "Boot" folder in C:\ , do I need it?

Sorry, yet another PC question!

I used Visual BCD to move a system boot from D: Drive to C: Drive and all went fine. I am not sure if there was a hidden "boot" folder in C:\ before or not, but there is now. I don't know if I can take ownership, change permissions and delete it, or if it is still used now that the boot stuff is on the C: Drive as I wanted. Does anyone know please? Screen shots of the file structure are at:

if the attached images are too small.

Thank you.

How did you install C:\ ?

From what I remember if you force the PC to skip the additional 100MB partition (on 1st setup) containing the files it will automatically create a folder on the C drive named boot containing the files to boot up windows.

It's a hidden file to stop damn tinkerers like you going around and deleting it! ;)

As above, if you've used various boot disks to get to the stage you're at with the install then it will have come from that. Doing a fresh prep should keep a separate partition and not make that folder....my advice - leave it be, it might be useful one day if not now.
