J-Meiser
Hello! The orange engine light and red warning light kept coming on whenever I went above 50 MPH, both lights would eventually go out and once they had, my cruise control would start working. My odometer and trip counters have always worked fine and so have both the rev counter and speedometer. Today, after doing some research on the forum, I took apart the dash and joined the red/blue wire into the pink wire and after resetting the ECU, I went for a test drive - no more warning lights and cruise control works from the outset , however, neither my odometer or trip meters count up any more ; the rev counter and speedometer both work fine. Has anyone else experienced this issue after doing the wire mod behind the dash and if so, can you point me in the right direction to resolve this new problem? If not, I'll just put the wires back to stock and live with the warning lights . Thanks!
Jamie698
Think from memory you've got them the wrong way round. Snip the pink wire and splice it to the red/blue, basically the red/blue is input, pink is output. The odo trip can no longer see speed pulse as you've bridged it straight to ecu. J-Meiser
Thank you Jamie, that makes perfect sense and I don't know why that didn't occur to me yesterday! I'll swap them over the next time I'm outside doing some jobs .
