Hi all.

I'm doing the conversion for 6 speed manual using BMW gearbox (GS6 53DZ - same as Mattsson on his build).

Just wanted to share with you how I'm doing.

Here is the adaptor plate:

All CNCed with 0.1mm precision :)

Now waiting for flywheel to be made. Conversion will be using twin plate clutch from BMW M Power.

More info to come :)

If you dont mind me asking but how much is it going to cost all in for parts? Abd an estimate for labour?

Do you know how much torque the box will take?

As soon as I'll have all parts ready to go in I can then add all up and let you know.

Mattsson Supra was dynoed 962 at the hubs and 1052 hp at the engine

Have you a photo, or a link to one with the flywheel and clutch mounted, *AT THE SAME TIME* as the adaptor plate? I am sure I am having a senior moment, but right now me no understand :)

I know exactly what you're thinking. I thought it too. I would hope that the spigot bit in the middle is purely to align the engine and box and adaptor plate and needs to be cut out now that it all lines up. Surely?

Hehehe I think I know what you are after Chris :)

Middle section of the adapter is only there for testing is crank shaft inline with input shaft of the gearbox. Can be cut off now as all is spot on.

That would be great and thats alot :) could be the best alternative for a cheaper 6speed supra and I bet the bmw box has a great smoother feeling too.

Least you know it should be able to handle the torque then as the 3.0L has a fair amount of punch.

Looking forward to the updates although I'm with Chris on the centre location of the spline. It should be located with dowels into the crank case and gearbox case that will ensure the spline is central??

Yeah. That.

The E36 M3 6 speed was clunky and horrible. The box you're using isn't too bad, being in the latest generation of 5 series, they need to be reasonably smooth, being a BMW and all.
