Just wonder if any of you techy guys could help me out,

I found my old cam corder and its got some footage of suprapod 2012 and some other meets , but when I put the memory card in my tablet it cant play the files after some research its because its a MOD file, I have tried renaming it to a mpg but that didnt work,

Does anyone know of a video player that plays mod file for my tablet or another way I can get around it

Thanks

According to this rather long-winded explanation its just MPEG2 format with a different file extension.

Try changing the extension from .mod to .mpg and see if it will play then. Doesn't seem to work for everyone, especially if you run a modern OS or use widescreen video.

Yeah I see that page already and tried that but no joy :(

OK, do a Google for "Freemake Video Converter". I struggled for ages with VLC because everyone seems to rate it so highly for conversion. I can never get the damn thing got work so now I use Freemake instead and its happily munched through anything I've given it. I think the free version has some ads in it but nothing that has ever caused me any bother.

If MOD is a proprietary format then you might be screwed, but its hopefully just a wrapper for something else.
