LOGIE
Done a quick search guys but...nada. Im in new territory here ive never delved into BPUing myself so im feeling my way through this. I bought an almost new bosch fuel pump of James (turtle) it came with a bosch non return valve. Do I need to fit this (the valve)?
Scott
Curious of this too, I assumed all pumps had a non-return valve built in. I don't think I have one for my 044, but I haven't fitted it yet. I assume it's to aid starting, so that there's not a whole load of cranking before it fires
LOGIE
Im hoping the turtleneck will come on and tell me as he had it fitted.
bignum
I left the valve on mine with no issues.
Wez
I removed it on mine and mounted in the stock hanger, used a straight through replacement fitting with a small piece of straight piping.
Chris Wilson
Personally I always run the none return valves, makes for less chance of vapour lock, less starter churning if the ecu doesn't pre prime the rail, and allows you to use one pump in a two pump system if one croaks without it back feeding the tank through the dead one. That is something I hadnt thought of Chris. I am only running this 1 pump but ill leave it in. Thanks guys.

You can get a non return valve that bolts straight in the top of the pump so you can do away with the stock Bosch 90 deg one
