JayJay1374
I should start by saying The cars been sat for 4 months and is running BPU to 1 bar. The car ran perfect before I parked it for winter. Anyway getting weird boost on the first turbo. Foot hard down and the boost builds to about 0.4 bar then jumps up to 1bar but the car doesn't accelerate until the second turbo kicks in. So basically the problem is between 2000 and 4000 rpm. The car feels really sluggish to drive. I'm gonna try TTC tomorrow and see if it's any better. I'm thinking it's likely to be a vsv but any help is appreciated. Thanks Jonny
supra_ufo
sounds like a VSV to me mate, i thought you had some spare VSVs, worth giving them a go. I have a similar issue

Silver.bullet
Which VSV would this be? I seem to be having the same problem with mine ever since the GReddy Boost Controller was put in. Almost like crazy lag and then the 2nd turbo comes one quite strong.
supra_ufo
its usually the top VSV, the one near to the back of the engine bay. IACV... Edited March 29, 2015 by supra_ufo (see edit history)

Samurai 20V
I had a similar problem a few weeks ago... IACV was at fault.. The other VSV's also seem to be at fault, got the car in TTC at the moment till some replacements arrive..
mellonman
Are you sure its even turbo related, sounds like seized brakes to me, You make 1 bar from the first turbo but feels slow if im reading it right, take it for spin round the block trying to not use the brakes then feel if they are hot or some are hotter the others
JayJay1374
It's not a brake fault. I've changed the IACV for one I found in my unit. Seems better but I'm still not making more than 0.5 bar on the first turbo.

JayJay1374
Bud have you put a Boost controller in? When did you notice the problem? No boost controller. Just restrictor ring. Only noticed after using the car after being parked for winter.

JayJay1374
Running TTC now. Still no different expect it over boosts now. Heres a poor quality video to try and show what's happening.
Samurai 20V
If you have an EBC, the gain could be too high..
JayJay1374
I don't have a boost controller. But I think I've fixed it. Just stripped the pipes off which I removed when fitting new link pipes. Then refitted. All seems well now. Couldn't completely test as the weather was too bad for WOT.
