Silece2k6
Hi everyone. My setup is a gt35 turbo and 40mm Wastegate. 3inch downpipe, oem 2nd Cat and a 3,5inch Apexi Catback. Im Running 1.1bar atm. If i Decat the car with a decat pipe, did automatic rise my boost up because of the back pressure? Thanks
mellonman
decating will flow more and could raise boost if your boost controler is not adjusted to suit , or the watse gate cant cope but i think you should be ok that side of things

rider
I'd expect turbo boost pressure to be tied more to the speed of the turbo. De-catting or wide boring should mean you raise the boost faster more than boost at a higher pressure, unless the reduction of back pressure does increase the terminal speed significantly. Then it could be terminal. The best way to find out is a good boost gauge to make sure you remain within specified limits.
