shezzy
Hi i am looking to convert my supra from an n/a to either a turbo or tt. Whats the right path to go down as in the near future i would like my supra to run between 550-600bhp. Its a manual facelift model. I already spent a fortune on the widebody so i wont sell it just want a turbo for it. Your advice will be appreciated thanx guys
Virus
i'd say: if you have a high millage engine right now, go for a GTE swap, but if you got a descent engine with not much technical issues on it, go for a turbo charge. Imma do the TT swap this summer probably if i can find an engine in descent condition. If you wonder what turbo kit, i'm sure few people here will be able to tell you more accurate

So ur saying to put a turbo kit on instead of changing to the gte engine.
Silece2k6
Go for a small Single Turbo Setup like a gt30/35 Turbo But you Need a lot more things than only the exhaust side. For example: fmic, fuel system, piggyback, sparkplugs, etc's

Yea mate, the GE engine on itself is very strong aswell, look what shezzy said, it might be a bit more pricey though.
Style
iirc the Whifbitz NA-T kit will be at it's limits on the exhaust manifold and turbo around 550hp unless you get it running on flex fuel. There's all sorts of threads and discussions about different routes people have gone down so have a look around to see what you fancy bud
listy
If you're looking at going circa 600hp in the future the drop a GTE in there, it's a no brainer. So many people struggle to make anything over 500hp work on an NA-t and it can be an endless expense fixing problems. I know one of the members on here could have purchased a fresh import TT6 by now with the money he's had to throw at his NA-t.

Was looking to build up the power without having to change the engine but 500bhp them changing over to a gte i think rather go for gte engine first then start from there. Hitbox Junkie
It can be russian rullet to.buy a engine but have a look at keron on here, cars that get broken on here, Jurgen at JM-Imports maybe able to help you get a front half of a car imported into the country. You`ve also.got the astrio that runs a 2jz gte vvti engine but your need change a few things like the sump to get it to fit in the supra. A cheaper option to consider is a 1jz gte engine swap these im aware are capable.of 600+ but i think you would need to have it built im sure someone will say im wrong here. Another option is a 1.5jz gte engine (1jz gte block and a 2jz gte head) This is a few options just looking at a jz gte engines.

RehanT
Another option is to build your 2jzge for turbo, Ie put in a set of 2jzgte pistons on your rods (rods are the same between non vvti ge and gte). Run some aftermarket management and upgrade injectors, fuel pump, get turbo manifold, turbo, fmic and piping etc. You can throw some serious abuse at the engine and 2jzge's are very strong anyway.
