a98pmalcolm
Hey gang. After my recent mod of clear rear lens's I needed chrome amber bulbs But as my fog light isnt really red I may as well change that and use leds as well as the ambers. And while im at it make my reverse white led to. I have delt with an ebay company outside of ebay and they did all 4 7440 fit leds for £14 delivered and the outcome was great. Just my number plate lights to sort lol EDIT: THESE AMBER LEDS MAKE THE INDICATOR FLASH VERY FAST. I'M GOING TO HAVE TO SEND THEM BACK Edited March 19, 2015 by a98pmalcolm (see edit history)
Mason
Looks awesome man, started to upgrade to LED's myself will deffo have to get rear ones
Westy
Nice. What was the name of the company?
drift_bear
I'm just away to change all my headlights and fog lights for LED bulbs. What site did you use for the rear bulbs? Looks great
LOGIE
Did you get any warning lights up on dash? Bulb failure? Ive heard leds can cause this.
Scott
Did you get any warning lights up on dash? Bulb failure? Ive heard leds can cause this. The fog light mod causes that too unless you wire in the resistors. It's easily cured, remove the bulb failure bulb
LOGIE
I have a led in the fog I just wired straight in. Never had an error yet. I do like the look of this.
Scott
I have a led in the fog I just wired straight in. Never had an error yet. I do like the look of this. Do you have a separate fog light though? Or have you done the wiring mod?
LOGIE
Yeah I had one of those horrible bumper mounted jobs thats wired to the ignition. I took the bulb socket from one of my original orange blob indicators and crimped it onto the wires then screwed it into reverse light. Al Massey
Don't send any lights back. You need to wire in a resistor on each side. That's all
cered
As above, wire in a resistor if possible. I believe LEDs advertised as 'CANBUS error free' can stop the fast-flashing and any warning lights if you'd prefer to re-buy (Worked for my Focus)

I took the bulb socket from one of my original orange blob indicators and crimped it onto the wires then screwed it into reverse light. That's why you had no issues with it. It's not in the rear light wiring circuit, you just created your own. The error light at the front is for the rear brake lights only. That's why the fog light mod sometimes causes errors with it

I'M GOING TO HAVE TO SEND THEM BACK http://i.imgur.com/s003fAr.jpg Because LEDs draw less power your rear lamp failure box thinks a bulb is out making them flash faster, get the canbus ones as they never play up...if you can get them in that size. Or bypass the lamp failure box (easy peasy)
heckler
the lamp failure box has nothing to do with the indicators, the "can bus" bulbs are for car equipped with a er.. can bus - so doesn't flag any faults. but will work in non can bus cars. easy solution is to put a load resistor in parallel with the led bulb. a 10 Ohm, 50w resistor will do the trick. That's what all the lights i make (front and backs) have a built in load resistor to stop this happening

heckler
take a look at this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Load-Resistors-LED-Flash-Rate-Turn-Signals-Indicator-Controllers-New-/310561304917?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item484ee57155 6 ohm will do the trick. at a push, you can use 25w resistor, but would get very hot... Jellybean
You dont need to wire in a resistor , just swap out the relay in the drivers footwell , Plug and play , takes 2 mins http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-3-Pin-LED-Flasher-Electronic-Relay-Fix-Flasher-Blinker-Turn-Signal-Indicator/390861730350?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107083358%26meid%3D03d179396f3541eb918f42099aeb5653%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D140647305973
