msupra1 Posted March 16, 2015 Share Posted March 16, 2015 I ordered a Fuel Lab FPR -6AN inlet -6AN return port, and fuel pressure gauge. I'm also looking to order about 3 feet of -6AN stainless fuel hose, will this be enough? Now what I would like to find out about the fittings to put it all together, - what kind of fittings should I be getting for the fuel rail? I've read that they should be 90 degree bend. The outlet is -6AN but what is inlet size that bolts into rail? - I will need (1) -6AN to -6AN fitting to run line from FPR to rail ? np89 Posted March 17, 2015 Share Posted March 17, 2015 If you feel you need an aftermarket FPR, then you obviously need bigger injectors as this is the only reason you would need an aftermarket FPR. The Std Toyota Reg is more than capable to cope with 700bhp. Aftermarket FPR's are used to Circumvent the issue of poor fuel delivery either due to restrictive fuel lines or insufficient injector capacity. np89 Posted March 17, 2015 Share Posted March 17, 2015 Also what you should check is that if your car is running a standalone ecu, that the fuel pump has a direct 12v feed as it will only run 9V through the std fuel ecu and if your tuner thinks it is running lean then this is why because my tuner made exactly the same mistake and tried to crack I needed all this extra fuel system balls and I didnt need any of it. I called my tuner and he recommended that I get it as it will be easier to adjust fuel pressure. Luckily the FPR doesn't cost that much. I have a shop that handles my upgrades and another shop for tuning. If my personal Supra mechanic feels the FPR is not necessary I'll just sell it off. That is exactly what it is for and is only required if you plan on increasing the fuel pressure over stock levels, the main reason for doing this is to squeeze more out of the injectors instead of replacing them with larger ones.
