walkerstrider
Recently changed front discs and pads and now have a knocking noise from the front left when I go over the slightest bump. Also knocks when I literally just touch the brake pedal. when I changed the pads there was no anti rattle springs but ive never heard this knock before. Is it likely to be the lack of these or maybe drop links? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Benjy
Anti rattle shims. Uk or J-Spec?
Guest Budz86
This is normally caused by the disk not being seated correctly. Take the wheel off, make sure the disk firmly on the hub and put a coupe for wheel nuts on opposite sides and do them up. Undo and replace the wheel. Should fix it. If not, you might have missed a bold or not tightened them properly so worth checking all that when the wheels off. Would be rare for the pads to rattle around in the calipers but that's also possible. The spring clips would fix that...
Benjy
Not as rare as you'd think Dean. The wheel should pull the disc flush to the hub flange aswell I'd hope.
walkerstrider
Thanks guys. Its a j spec. I travel up ahd down the motorway so if the disc wasnt seated correctly surely there would be massive vibration which there isnt at any speed. Ive checked all bolts etc and there all tight. mattdavies
My CW pads knock when I brake but they don't over bumps. You sure both set of bolts on the j-spec calipers are tight ?
walkerstrider
Problem solved!
