Scott
I'm using Ian C's pinout diagram from the following thread.... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?35919-ECU-Pinouts The following picture shows the pin I am querying.... I believe this is the air intake temperature pin. Am I right in saying that this won't be used with a single install? Is there an air temperature sensor with the stock JSpec setup? Just wondering if this is a UK only thing. Thanks
Scott
Just realised something. I'm holding the loom, rather than the ECU. Am I right in thinking that the pinout diagram is for the loom.... rather than for the ECU itself. It would make sense for it to be the loom but I don't want to confuse the issue by having to mirror what I'm seeing in the pinout diagram
TheTurtleshead
There is an Intake air temp sensor on the stock manifold yes. It's just behind the throttle body on the inside. It's 100% used on a single install. - - - Updated - - - Just realised something. I'm holding the loom, rather than the ECU. Ok that muddies the water slightly then. Are you absolutely categorically sure on this? That would mean that it's definitely not the air intake sensor wire. Scott
The picture on the pinout word document looks like the harness to me. If it was the ECU it would be upside down.
Scott
If it IS the air intake temperature then I'm not using it as the Syvecs isn't setup for the air intake temperature. Do you have a Syvecs? What input have you setup as your air intake temperature?
TheTurtleshead
'D' Scott. http://s1115.photobucket.com/user/suprasteve70/media/2011-11-18175520.jpg.html Yes, I'm sure. I made my own syvecs adapter harness... was a ballache but I'm pretty familiar with the pin outs. What's the problem you're having Scott? TheTurtleshead
I have an S6. It needs to be pinned into the correct pin and assigned in the I/O configuration.
Scott
I've ran out of inputs and Ryan is adamant that I should have pin 65 spare. I need one more input for the TC switch. I currently have: AN1 - Cam Sensor AN2 - Crank Sensor AN3 - Wheel Speed RL AN4 - Wheel Speed RR AN5 - I don't seem to have anything here. Could I use this? Says in the pinout that it's vehicle speed? AN6 - Air Con Switch AN7 - Wheel Speed FL AN8 - Wheel Speed FR AN9 - TPS AN10 - MAP Sensor AN11 - Fuel Pressure AN12 - Oil Pressure AN13 - Coolant Temp AN14 - Oil Temp AN15 - Not set to anything but currently pin 65 going into harness pin 25 as per the pic. Cheers
Scott
Just went out and had another look at it to source pin 58. First of all, of course that's the ECU pinout. The harness is effectively mimicking the ECU, doh!! Secondly, it appears that pin 58 from the syvecs is going to either pin 1 or pin 2 on the ecu harness (E10). This wouldn't make any sense as pin 1 is for auto and pin 2 isn't for anything. Does that mean that I can use pin 58 for the TC switch and set pin 65 as the IAT? What benefit will I have of using the IAT, the ECU doesn't seem bothered that it's not there at the moment lol.
Scott
I think I've sussed it out. Pin 64 is for the IAT, my pin 64 is clear. Pin 65 is a spare input, my pin 65 is connected to the IAT. Having seen the above pattern it's clear to me that I should use AN14 for the IAT. Pin 58 is the Vehicle Speed Input. I believe this is an Auto characteristic. It goes to either pin 1 or pin 2 on E10. Pin 1 is for Auto and pin 2 is meant to be empty. I'll verify this before doing anything though. Once that's done I'll use pin 58 to connect the TC cal switch and configure AN5 accordingly. That should hopefully sort out my issues
