Scott
Am I right in saying that the outputs on the Syvecs can be configured to either 12v or 5v? I believe the output for my rev counter has been set at 5v when it needs to be 12v (it has a 1kohm resistor in place to pull down the voltage). It's the only thing I have left as to the reason why my tacho isn't working. I've been on it all day and there are no issues at all with the connections. Thanks Scott
Scott
Had a worrying thought that the cluster may not be working. Fuel gauge was definitely working, temperature gauge was definitely working but I couldn't be sure about the speedo. It's on axl e stands anyway so gave it a quick run in 3rd. Worked a treat, so it's definitely just the tacho that's not working.
supra matt
Hi mate yes its to do with the syvecs as my mate has the same problem after Ryan mapped his car, have you looked on the syvecs fourm,
Scott
I have indeed mate, I spoke to Ryan about it too but didn't get a reply. I have the solution though so that's 1 thing i can tick off, thanks to the Syvecs forum. It turns out that the older Syvecs units (Solaris) only output 5v via pin 12 rather than 12v. It's believed to be a hardware change so there's no way of changing it via a jumper. the solution is to use one of the other 12v pins (19,20,21) for the pullup instead.
