chazuk
I am looking for some new pads for my ksport fronts and kad rears as I need to chuck my blue ebc's away as they are shocking . I tried CW fast road pads but unfortunately Chris was unable to help with pads for these . So it seems to be between Performance friction ,Porterfield,or Ferodo DS2500 .anyone got any advice and which compound should I be looking at?. I am not after a race pad that is dangerous when cold but I need it to pull up a few times from silly speed without fade . T2 MSW
The EBC stuff is truly shocking. I got the yellow stuff give to me from someone that used to work at EBC and all I can say is never again. Im running the same fronts as you and have the porter field race pads in them. They are simply amazing pads and I know a few people that run them. My brother also runs them in his 350Z. Few people have also tried out the performance friction ones too. What are you going to use the car for? Porterfield do two compounds road and race/track. Ive got the track ones and they generate quite a bit of dust and you have to get them warm for them to work properly. Cold on the road you have to put quite a but of peddle force in to get the car to stop until they get warm. But thats what you would expect for a race pad
ManwithSupra
I can echo the EBC reference. I use Porterfield R-4 but as said when cold they are well... hairy
T2 MSW
If its for the road I would use the R-4S which is for road use. Track - R-4 and just remember the first time you hit them they don't perform as you would expect.
chazuk
Least it's not just me with ebc I used to have red stuff in one of my old cars and that seemed okay but this blue stuff is seriously bad. Car is only used for road so sounds like the r4s pad would you guys recommend r4s in the rears as well ?
supra matt
I forgot about the ds2500 I had them in the 200 and they were amazing pricey again but if they make them I might give them ago,
bignum
Performance friction 01 compound are great from cold and you don`t have to give them heat cycles to bed in, good discount from partsbox too:d

Wez
If available then Performance Friction is always my first choice

Wez
On the Supra I have some prototype 97 compound. Link to the pads and disks from my build thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?179831-Wez-Track-Supra&p=2556063&viewfull=1#post2556063 Edited March 6, 2015 by Wez (see edit history)
baldy
I run ds2500 all round, great from cold, it stops ok but they do fad after a bit of hard driving I also wanted a pad that wouldn't rip the discs to bits when cold as the ap's ain't cheap. I did try ds3000 on my last set up and these from cold and around town driving killed discs in no time Speak to circuit supplies at silverstone they are very helpfull
Luxluc
What compound do you guys use ? I'm not sure mate.
T2 MSW
Ive just switched to 08 compound, slightly harder than 01. The 08 any good from cold? When I went out with you at silverstone were you still on the Porterfields? As your felt like mine does when the pads are cold. Feels like they are ripping chunks out of the disks so Im thinking of a change.

johnny g
I use Pagids RS29 on the GTR. Very good, but can be noisy around town. A certain Mr Wilson also does stood line in brake pads.
