Chris Wilson
If anyone has a 5 or speed manual box sat on the floor I wonder if they'd make a quick measurement for me please? Lay a straight edge across the block face of the bellhousing and tell me where the edge of the straight edge that is sat on the bellhousing face is in relation to the gearbox input shaft. I am hoping it will be level with the spline end of the machined part of the input shaft where it would enter the crankshaft spigot bearing. If this reads about as clear as mud I'll take a photo of what I am asking for Thanks! Why do I ask? I am checking a race box and don't have any manual boxes on the floor to check against myself, and I just want a sanity check before I start cutting metal! bignum
Chris, the spline is approx 3mm behind my straight edge with the spigot part of the shaft protruding 17mm past the straight edge, hope this helps.
