Silece2k6
Hi guys, I just installed my RPS Clutch (Stage 3) to my v160 with a Alloy flywheel. Now there are some loud Rattle noises when i put in the First gear and Start to roll... At 2.000U/min its fully gone. Is this normal? np89
Lightened flywheels always sound like a bag of spanners. Just the way they are but usually prompts comments of "is there something wrong with your car?"
Silece2k6
Ok so Its normal. Nothing Happens to my gearbox, because of the "rattle" ? Thanks
Chris Wilson
The stock dual mass flywheel is designed to stop gear train rattle. The one piece flywheel does not, so you get the rattles and harmonics from the gear train and propshaft.
Luxluc
I had the RPS max clutch with RPS lightened flywheel. Some noise between 1500-2000 rpm is normal.
Silece2k6
I See, but Its not dangerous for the Gearbox?
T2 MSW
No, its noise that is always there on every supra. Just the stock dual mass flywheel is designed to soak up these sounds.
Chris Wilson
The main dangers to manual gearboxes are lack of oil and the guy pushing and pulling the gear lever Especially if they are American.
