ashloys
Hey guys. I've just got my first Supra, and so far I'm loving it. It's a 1993 Jspec Auto TT. So far it's got everything important done, all BPU mods, engine rebuilt very recently and the last 2 owners gave it to SSI (Supra Specialists Ireland) any time it needed anything. It seems to have been very well looked after. A bit about my car history.. I started off with Honda Civics, as most do. lol https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/540420_10151774673290437_575786677_n.jpg?oh=5de2e9d07123029c4f301c6d49b075e6&oe=57AE3C7F Then onto a Nissan 200SX with a forged SR20. Then a friend imported a fresh JZX100 Toyota Chaser, factory manual R154. It was then subsequently stolen in October and never to be seen again. I loved the Chaser, couldn't see me ever getting rid. So after it was stolen, I had planned to give cars a break for a while and stay sensible for a year or so. That obviously didn't happen.. lol I made my mind up I wanted a Supra, but said to myself I'll wait a few months and find one I really want and get on my feet as I've just moved out by myself. A few days later I saw this for sale local to me, so I got np89 (member on here) and Mark Luney to fire up and view it with me. To our disbelief the car was actually as good as it looked in the pictures, in fact much better. The shell was mint, just been resprayed, engine is 100% and it was all dandy. I made the owner an offer to which he refused (he was contemplating not even selling it), then we left hoping to hear back. I got a text a couple of hours later saying he will let it go and we can meet the following night. The following night, 5 minutes before we were due to meet, he text me saying he couldn't bring himself to sell the car and he was really sorry. I pestered the life out of him and with no reply for hours he eventually replied and agreed to meet me in 20 mins.. and here we are. Then I have these wheels sitting to go on.. The plans are to just tidy the interior up, maintain it and have it sitting nice Rough spec list so far: Engine: (rebuilt by SSI approx 2000 miles ago) Rebuilt with all new parts, full toyota headset, oil pump etc. CP Pistons Eagle Rods Skimmed Head 440cc Injectors Fuel Cut Defender Fuel Pressure Regulator Dump Valve Uprated Fuel Pump De-catted with a restrictor ring Blitz Nur-Spec Exhaust System Front Mount Intercooler 100mm Alluminium Radiator Alluminium Oil Cooler K&N Air Filter Interior/Electronics: Oil Pressure Gauge Water Temp Gauge Boost Gause Turbo Timer Greddy Profec B Spec-II Boost Controller Double DIN DVD/Satnav/Radio Chassis/Drivetrain/Brakes: Tein Superstreet Coilovers Front Strut Brace UK brakes front and rear, rebuilt/serviced by SSI UK discs Chris Wilson Fast Road Pads Edited April 21, 2016 by ashloys (see edit history)

ashloys
Yeh I'm going to do the bay in the future. Yep you're right Chris! I bought it as a 1.4i and stuck a B16A in it from an import ek. Was Dyno'd at 175 bhp. Was a good wee car.

Zeiretto
Nice find! I like the wheels you're going to put on there. What are they (I'm thinking Varrstoen ES6 or Work Meister S1)?
ashloys
Cheers guys! I honestly don't remember what the insurance was, it was so long ago. About 1500 maybe? Yeh the whole car is in excellent shape, just some interior panels are a wee bit scruffy which I'll be changing. They look very similar to Work Meister S1 but they're actually Work Equip Anhelo. They were made before the Meister S1 and are much more rare I think.
Zeiretto
Ah yes, I know those. Rare indeed!
ashloys
Ah yes, I know those. Rare indeed! They're only 17" though.. will need to be pretty low to look good!
Zeiretto
If they're wide with alot of meat on there, it shouldn't look too bad.
ashloys
If they're wide with alot of meat on there, it shouldn't look too bad. They're only 17x9 with Federal 595RSR 255/40/17 on them. Will just space them out to look nice. ET38.. any recommendations on spacer size? Will probably just measure it up whenever they're on. Lovely looking wheels though! Abz
Welcome to the club and it looks fantastic! Looks like the engine is built ready to go single turbo Peace of mind knowing it has been looked after at SSI, they are fantastic and certainly look after the Supra's very high standards. Thanks it won't be going single any time soon, I'll tell you that lol! Just moved out and I'm broke! Yeh definitely. I had it up there last week getting a traction control issue sorted. Ended up the ecu was broken. They certainly do know their stuff. I'll get more pictures up whenever all 4 wheels are on and height is sorted. ashloys
So I've finally made some progress. The car was away getting the crank seal changed and general wee niggly things for MOT like a seat belt tensioner not working. It passed with flying colours though first time! Here's a pic of it on my friends 180sx wheels with good tyres for mot lol And on the ramp.. I took the 19" axis Hiro Wheels off and got some OEM wheels which imo look much better. Got them off a local guy so that was handy. And I also drove down to the Republic of Ireland this evening to collect an R154 box and parts off a mk3 supra to convert it to manual Fits snug in the boot of my daily diesel polo. pedrosixfour
Yeah great news on the MOT pass & finding the R154 gearbox. Did the box come from a MKIII with a 1JZ or a 7M engine? If it's the latter you'll be needing a different bell housing. I've to pull my own R154 this weekend and hopefully identify the ticking noise it's making as just a knackered bearing. Fingers crossed to the point of breaking!!

If you see any clutch pedals or bellhousing give me a shout as that's the main 2 pieces of the puzzle I need. Because you're right the mk3 did have a 7m-gte! Went to dundalk for all of it last night. Hopefully your problem is an easy fix dude.

ashloys
I think I've found a clutch pedal now so the other main piece of the puzzle is just a bellhousing, then I need to save up for a clutch and lightened flywheel! She pretends she doesn't like the car..
