He did a lap a few years ago with a camera on the bike and just happened to break the lap record. If you ever see the whole lap it looks anything but slow! He has this great photo enlargment of him geting air off a jump in the Isle of man race. Maximum respect to anyone who can race on the island. garethr Posted September 4, 2005 Share Posted September 4, 2005 Definitely the TT. Lap record is 127.68mph... 37.73 miles in 17m 43.8s. Speed trap record (in practice) is 201.8mph. It's surreal watching them do 160+ down a village street (like Kirk Michael below) a few feet away from you. The TT is something every petrolhead should see at least once, before it's banned. P.S. The Irish road races are arguably even crazier. Shorter courses, not as fast, but much narrower roads and crap surfaces. Sometimes shown on Men and Motors on Saturday.
