adam1983
Not sure if this is a daft question but was on my mind. Apart from the 4 speed auto box are there any other auto boxes that are compatible? If not is it possible to make a different one fit? For example would it be possible to fit a 6 or 7 speed box from a similar powered car?
chazuk
Be allot of work not just mechanical I would of thought you would need a standalone ecu as well to control it, like anything custom the cost would probably be so high you could buy a brand new 6spd or a built auto box plus have re-sale value in the car. adam1983
No doubt there would be probably big costs involved for the full project but just interested to know how straight forward it would actually be. I know boostlogic and titan do uprated auto boxes but I think that's just using the existing box but with better parts to make them stronger. Hitbox Junkie
Anything is possible with enough molla . I'd love a sequential box in a supra or a hurst shifter As said above possibly not worth doing and could cost as much as a 6 speed conversion. adam1983
Would a sequential box add more gears? Would be interesting to know a rough idea on cost too as a 6 speed manual box is not exactly cheap these days
MattP
I'm sure 2bar tuning or SRD mated a 7 speed Lexus box to a supra with the aid of a syvecs a few years ago..
mellonman
The drag racing boys use a TH400, So I bet there is a complete kit out there
adam1983
Both of those sound like the sort of thing I was thinking about. Going to do a bit of research into how much work and cost is involved. Would be interesting to know what model the 7 speed Lexus box came from and how much power/torque it could handle. Do you know how many gears the TH400 has mellonman?
