Bob
Having fitted my spangly new Blitz gauge today (mechanical Mirror Drive shiny type thing ), the initial readings seem fine (from searching other posts) - -0.7 to -0.8 at idle, rising to 0.5 at medium acceleration. However, after giving it some, both in Manu mode and normal drive, down a stretch of 'private testing road', the maximum the gauge read was a lowly 0.7bar of boost. Does that seem a bit low? I thought standard boost was 0.9 bar on the soop? I've checked all the pipes I can see, and there doesn't seem to be any loose ones at all. Mods-wise, the car's stock. Standard air box (anyone wanna buy a Blitz SUS?). Not sure whether the exhaust is a proper Blitz one or one with a blitz pipe welded on the end. merckx
Standard car with standard exhaust is about 0.8bar. Depends on your exhaust really, if it's less restrictive then your boost should be higher.

Bob
Cheers, thats my mind at rest now anyway Think a 1st decat pipe is high on the to-do list now (don't want to have to replace for every MOT!)

Bob
Single? I wish! Decided to concentrate (mainly) on brakes and suspension first though, maybe I'm just over cautious
Clarkey
Decided to concentrate (mainly) on brakes and suspension first though Wise choice. Definately a set of UK brakes. Though instead of aftermarket suspension .. consider RLTC. And it's worth doing a full decat. Cat #2 only takes 20 minutes and 4 bolts.
Bob
Dammit, now you've made me start shopping for a full decat! lol Would you suggest a restrictor ring with that, seeing as it's only gonna be on stock ceramics? Currently saving up for a set of big brakes, and got Nic's TRD coilovers on their way

Currently saving up for a set of big brakes, and got Nic's TRD coilovers on their way Once you mod - you can't stop! Yes - a restrictor ring is crucial. It'll keep you at a stable 1.2 Bar - instead of overboosting to 1.4 or higher. Get rid of the stock exhaust & Fit an aftermarket straight though exhaust system. Speak to Terry S - he stocks the BoostLogic 4" exhaust systems. Imo - they are the far superior to the RSR & Blitz. They're not that much more expensive either .. perhaps £75 maybe.
