Unfortunately several generations under the labour Govt have been raised as parasites in the UK - they simply can't compete in the real world.

Given that a generation is generally defined as a period of 25 years, let's have a look at which party has been in power, and for how long, since 1945 (our grandparent's generation).

1945 - 1951 Labour - 5 years

1964 - 1970 Labour - 5 years

1974 - 1979 Labour - 5 years

1997 - 2010 Labour - 13 years

Total years in Government 28 years out of the last 70! or 40% of the time.

I suggest that the 'parasites' have been nurtured under both the Tories and Labour governments, showing just how useless and out of touch they have become to the electorate.

I'm not suggesting a vote for UKip as a solution to the problem of inept government in westminster though!

Not when the parasites seem to be procreating in their early teens in order to secure a council house with grandparents in their 30s.....having never worked a day in their lives.

Issue is that we allow these parasites to have a say......

OP shown statistics for LEGAL immigrants from EU countries.

Wow, in one sentence you say that it is fault of employers and government and say that this cretin Farage and his party is a solution because he wants to limit immigration by kicking some out?

Daily Mail, your daily source of information Chris, wow!

Your mixing immigration with deportation.

Whilst we are in the EU then there is nothing that can be done, all we can do is watch our economy crumble and see our money leave the country.

Have you seen the hoops you have to jump through to get a mortgage? try saving £30k for a deposit on minimum wage. or on a HGV drivers wage. Or without a job because all the immigrants have taken them on minimum wage, send a % of their earnings home instead of pumping it back into our economy.

Thats without the 0 hour contracts that employers are so fond of especially for shop staff.

I am happy to vote for UKIP soley to shake the other parties up so they can get their act together over the next 5 years.

What ever happens in the next 5 years is because the current govt have left the economy in that position.

Strange seconds ago in the TV they were saying that UK economy is the fastest growing economy in G7 countires - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/11379796/US-growth-disappoints-to-leave-UK-in-pole-position.html

seems immigration do bad for you especially that new members of EU could legally work from 2004. Or maybe all immigrants got jobs in the banks and everything few years later...now all of them left and everything is back to normal...come on man...

Regarding house prices - you can solely say thank you to your government, which give a toss about house prices and making market affordable - let they grow so only rich can buy and middle class will vanish it is already happening. With average UK salary of 26.500 and most of house prices down south 300k and more sorry but no one can afford. Immigrants as well...;)

Exactly.

I am sick of how immigrants are treated here and the low wages in the UK and the knock on effect it has.

I earn above the average and still struggle to live the way I did in the late 90's

The govt needs to act now and increase the min wage. Abolish long working hours so people have time to spend a decent wage once it is increased. Then the economy will genuinly grow.

Is there still a middle class?

People always, always blame who's currently in power.

Always been the way, and always wrong.

The reason we are in this mess, is because of years and years of slowly heading this way.

Cameron has done his best to turn it around, but of course that meant with sacrifices which some people don't like.

And one thing that always bugs me is when people say the average wage is £26k

No it's not.

In London maybe, but it isn't anywhere else.

The problem we have is that many people are happy to work for minimum wage, and most of those people aren't British.

While we have an open boarder policy we are screwed.

And thats but saying people can't come here to work, because that is fine.

It's people coming here to live and not work.

That is a huge problem

The eurozone was one of the biggest disasters for this country it has done nothing but worsen and already crappy predicament. Only skilled labour in shortage should be allowed into the country to work, I'm not sure how much it will effect other things but the best thing for this country would to get as far away from the eurozone as possible it's been nothing but trouble since it started !!!!

I was earning equivilent to todays min wage in 1992 when I had a silly hair cut and wore green everyday for a living.

I would like to see a USA style immigration here.

Or Australian...

Both of them countries appear to have immigration issues too. No doubt something needs to be done to target those that come here to play off the system.

You remove that then problem solved. Make it min 5 years of work & paying into the system before you claim anything & even restrict how long that lasts.

Exact,y that!

A British citizen has to pay 30 years of national insurance contributions before eligible for a pension.

Yet while on benefits, your contributions are paid.

WTF.

Need to put me in charge of the plan! :D

It is crazy, paid close to £2k this month in tax. My question is why am I paying so much tax and getting so little in return?! Not like we are short of money through tonnes of tax avenues.

State pension is useless and that is if I make to 68! (They are increasing it). I'll get taxed again when I die.

Anyway back on topic, all these immigrants coming over here, taking our cleaning jobs!! How dare they work! :D

Eventually the U.K will be FULL and no more people will be able to get in,the health service will collapse, benefit system will be unaffordable, schools will be full and there will be no housing,so all we have to do is wait. Then some genius will say we should have seen it coming!!

The world is full. It already can't sustain its population.

They don't make it easy if you go through the official route as a skilled individual with something to offer. It cost me thousands and took two years and a ton of paperwork to get a skilled permanent residency visa for OZ, which we plan to use once I finish my contract here.

I accepted a new job in the UK in 2013 and brought my Japanese wife over on a spouse visa which was another ball-ache (and cost close to £3k) as well. They wanted to know the in's and out's of a dog's a*&e including 6 months worth of bank statements and payslips from Japan, let alone my new job. If that didn't pay over £26k PA then her visa would have been refused unless I could show I have at least £60,000 cash in the bank, and held there for the last 6 months. If I'm not working at the time it's due for renewal then I need to show I have £84,000 cash in the bank or we'll have to leave the country. Mean while it's open door to anyone within the EU, regardless of their intentions.

This is one thing I find utterly stupid, skilled people who want to move around have all these hoops to jump through, yet the bottom feeders with no skills can move around freely and get paid to do it.

Certainly seems that way, and unfortunately it's the result of too many people having taken the p*ss in the past.

Before applying for the UK visa I thought it would be a relatively straightforward process as we'd been married for four years and I had a job offer. As we planned to stay with my parents for a month or two before finding a place to live they wanted a copy of the house floor plans signed off by a company to check there was enough space for us. You'd think that's fairly reasonable, except no one actually checked the property I just had to pay £100 for some bloke to reply to my Email with a letter confirming there's space.

Country is in debt. Always has been. But they still use our tax money to fund other work abroad such as charitys ect but also pay the EU (brussels head of the EU) a fee for the privillage of being able to trade. I dis like the EU. But i agree with statements above about making people work to be able.to get benefits not just tricking the system as there are people that deserve it for a better life (disabled, ex military, mental health)

We tried to bring someone with a specialist role to the UK, it is a lot of headache, loads of paper work and jumping hoops and a quite a bit of money involved too.

My Uncle on the other hand has lived in Italy most of his life and after he got married, his wife wanted to move to the UK to be closer to her sister. They moved over instantly with no issues what so ever.

He's paying more than Costa is a month! ;)

Most likely! Hence why I am going contracting to reduce my tax bill, it is disgusting to be frank. Now imagine if you all added up the tax you paid over the years... actually don't do that!

We also spend a HUGE amount in our own country which is wasteful. We shouldn't ever be in a position where the local council have nearly half a billion pounds off shored in other accounts. We should be reducing our costs first foremost and clearing out debt. An when people talk about debt as a country, it is debt that the government should take a responsibility for. It isn't you or I who put the country into debt, we all pay huge amount of taxes, multiple revenues why are we at a stage we are spending more than we are earning. It is the fundamentals of basic finance, but I guess greed is something that wasn't taught in school.
