cered
I wonder how the statistics for French or Spanish prisons are...
j_jza80
This is true. You could draw the conclusion that some ethnic groups are picked on more by the police than the indigenous population. Or perhaps they find it harder to find work, for whatever reason, and so in their frustration they resort to crime. On the other hand perhaps Johnny Foreigner is just lazy, immoral & workshy who would rather benefit from live a life of crime than do a hard days work. Like those ones 'taking all our jobs'. Fact of the matter is, drawing conclusions from stats like the one from the OP doesn't really do anything apart from reinforce prejudice. I agree On the other hand, people choosing to avoid facts, when it clearly points to a link between ethnicity and certain crimes can lead to such disasters as that recently seen in Rotherham. The left wing council was so obsessed with sweeping the ethnicity issue under the carpet that innocent and vulnerable people are still bring groomed and abused. j_jza80
I wonder how the statistics for French or Spanish prisons are... I would fully expect A LOT of British expats in Spanish jails. We have a resident expert on that subject.

hogmaw
Jimmy Saville's 'frustrations' led to crime, you support that too then? WTF? I never said I 'supported' anything. I'm just giving an explanation. Which is much more than the OP did.
Tyson
The more I hear about these foreigners the more I don't like them.... We should take his opportunity to buy a cheap greek island make it to a prison and ship all the criminals out there and leave them to their own devices. We could also use it as a training ground for our armed forces. We'd save millions in the long run.

bignum
No it really is THAT bad, most of the shops i have to visit to carry out cctv surveys are having problems with gangs of the above mentioned types and its pretty well organized stuff too all relating to theft of high value items, if the english folks are at it they must be that good as to never get caught.also vehicle and house break inns are on the up, there`s a wave of it across Birmingham and surrounding areas, my trade is booming. hogmaw
my trade is booming. You won't be voting ukip then
Konrad
It' is unfortunate, but UKiP seems to be prospering on a back of people like Tony or Paul. I made an effort and checked Crime statistics and number in England in 2000 (before EU immigrant influx) and 2010. Number of estimated BCS crimes is actually lower (9.8 million in 1990 and 9,6 million in 2010). If James's business in booming it might have something to do with financial crisis dragging more people to poverty, working in depraved areas (Midlands). Gangs was always in area, my house got burgled by local finest once, yet because immigration is such a hot topic it's so easy to blame "outsiders" for all bad things happening in a surrounding world. During last 4 decades most crimes was committed between 1994 and 1996, since then it is dropping down dramatically and is on lowest level from 1983. Only thing Nigel Farage is doing well is to spread hate and use "rhetoric" to appease uneducated masses.
j_jza80
That's what politicians do. Labour do it by vilifying the wealthy, and stereotyping them all as heartless tax dodgers.
novak
I am an immigrant as well - Polish so get ready for violence!!! I need to admit that by reading all posts (not trying to be rude) you can quite easily see - who is willing to make their own opinion by doing a bit of research and who just go with the flow. In UK it is quite apparent that immigration only comes up when it is needed - financial crisis - because of banks.....but yet some immigration on the ball as well......now economy getting better...same number of immigrants or maybe even more...it all went quiet..... Let just get closer to elections there will be so much hate from all parties to get easy votes.... Sorry but those statistics are for numpties....it is nearly showing that there are only 4000 people in prison in whole UK. You can make any statistics look as you want. I was a contractor came here and was asked to stay, as there was no specialists who could carry on with type of work I do. I need to admit that in early days I lived on a street were only immigrants tend to go to work in the whole street 3 immigrant families, all other council, brand new cars and complaining about their life - It made me laugh when some of them would come out in pyjamas and yawn at 4pm when I was back from work. I do live in a better area now and approach is completely different, although those people do not say "init" 10 times in one sentence - you can see were UKIP is aiming - for people that always got time to vote... But being honest does it look right when you see Mr. Farage (maybe future prime minister ) with a fag and pint in his hand...and a bit dumb smile? Not sure he will resolve problems...surely he will try to get rid off gays, people with AIDS etc. Obviously there are immigrants, which comes and abuse system but they are everywhere - minority will always make a bad name for majority....same with British tourists in some places they are not even able to get a room - again I have been on many holidays with my British friends (not English) and never seen them misbehaving in any way - probably I am the worst one from the group - but hey I am... how do we say "Eastern European". Chris Wilson
Both main parties are terrified of the UKIP vote splitting the election. The BBC, needless to say, is using all their considerable left wing bias to show negativity about UKIP before such programmes are banned a little closer to the general election date. They were at it again at 10.00 PM this evening, on BBC2. I am still waiting to find out what "hogmaw" does for a living, it's got to be something that makes money off the back of crooks, illegal immigrants and general detritus from overseas here in the UK, surely? When people kick off at immigrants, it's at illegal immigrants. The ones who come across here with the open boarder policy, have nothing to bring to the party, and just want our free health care, or free benefits and live an easy life. j_jza80
When people kick off at immigrants, it's at illegal immigrants. The ones who come across here with the open boarder policy, have nothing to bring to the party, and just want our free health care, or free benefits and live an easy life. People have many reasons. Personally, I think they should Have to pay a deposit upon arrival, to cover any potential cost to the taxpayer, until they have paid enough tax to cover their use of public services. The other side of the immigration coin is the unsustainable increase in the size of the UK population. We can cope, for now, but what will the impact be in several generations? We aren't leaving any room for expansion, and the result will be us further destroying our countryside. Unfortunately, any attempt to discuss sustainable immigration results in being labelled a racist.

So if I pay taxes as you do...can I have a free health care or shall I pay extra because I am an immigrant? Sorry but this benefits claim is quite outdated...what mean easy life... if you want to get somewhere you need to work hard...
j_jza80
There are people, British and immigrants alike, who have learned to play the system in such a way that they don't need to work to have a decent living. There are people running businesses is Europe, that instruct people what they're entitles to when they get here, and how to claim. And it doesn't help that we encourage this by providing translation for those services either. We should certainly make a decent standard of English a prerequisite for immigration.
