Lee P
John approached us as he wanted to take his car a little further, it already had a nice spec with the T04Z, Syvecs and Built auto box. This setup has already produced some good numbers too. The aim was to also tidy the bay up a little and give it a check over. The main parts to be fitted are a set of our stage 1 264 cams and a Precision 6466 Gen 2 We have had great results with these turbos over the years and the Gen 2 units have really changed the game. This turbo is smaller than the T04Z, will spool a lot quicker but make more power. Few pics of what we are starting with and the first bits coming off

Tsia
Slightly off topic I know, but why do people place the BOV there? Isn't it better served much closer to the throttle body?

Tsia
Thats how it came when we bought the kit second hand. My previous Supra had it located there as well. It just left me wondering.

It will be intersting to see what numbers it makes now. - - - Updated - - - 600ish Auto is awesome on the road Aiming for a steady 650bhp , Dont really want to be chasing numbers as that gets expensive. The aim is a nice fast spooling street setup. We are limited by the stock intake manifold. But thats something we will look into next year. Would it not be more cost effective to do it now? As you'll be remapping the car and tidying the engine bay anyway. Would seem a shame not to have Lee fit an SRD intake manifold and bigger throttle body while there.

When Lee updates more you'll see why we've had to put that idea to one side for now, there's been a few issues that has added to the cost. So adding another £1-2k for the uprated inlet manifold to the total cost isnt something dad can afford at the moment.

I'll await updates then Seemed an awesome car already so it'll be interesting to see what difference the newer turbo makes.
JamieP
Nice one guys, 900bhp turbo you have there! Did you go DBB?
Benjy
Haha... "Issues"... Fair play to Mr SRD. Should be a nice reliable Dragonball this year for you guys! Tis gonna be a weapon!!
Lee P
As Chris as said once we got the turbo off we found some issues The manifold is cracked in multiple places and the other parts are in poor condition. It seemed silly to put a brand new turbo on such a poor condition kit so the decision was made to replace the kit. Nice one guys, 900bhp turbo you have there! Did you go DBB? Its a Gen 2 so only DBB on these ones
Chris Bailey
Nice one guys, 900bhp turbo you have there! Did you go DBB? Gives us headroom for more power in the future if we decide to go that route, Plus its something a little different. Lee hadnt fitted a 6466 and was interested to see what it coule do. We went for the 6466 GEN 2 1.0 A/R DBB. Dont think they make the new GEN2 in journal bearing.
JamieP
I never realised all GEN2 was DBB. Awesome turbo. I'm interested to see how fast these spool. Wow that manifold is f**ked. Could you hear it blowing?

jcbt
What manifold if that?! That was once a very good Boostlogic manifold but as they say nothing lasts forever You're have to wait to see updates to see what the new one is.
