wez_p
Isn't there a planned increase in fuel duty due on 1st October? If that happens surely all hell would break out. that's what they said about £1 per litre
Green Peace
I cant help thinking that rolling up outside No10 in a Supra...is not a message that the press will justify on their bullitons...If it was combined with ordinary drivers (a cross section) then it would work a whole lot better...we would have to put banners over the cars also to let everyone know what we are campaigning about too. Hey CJ runs a Printers...!!!! Well I was suprised today because i paid just 91.7p for 99Ron at Tesco Extra in Watford (still way too expensive though)

Kip
Wondered when this subject would raise it's head again. I was stung for 1.02p for optimax on the motorway on Thursday last week, then I arrived at my destination on the south coast only to find it was 98.9p, when I questioned this, I was told to expect even more raises in the next few weeks - NOT just this thieving government then!! I wrote to Michael Howard, and the following day had a reply from his office giving me some frightening statistics - did you know this government actually has a revenue of 64 BILLION pounds a year from us - the vehicle drivers - 1.9 billion actually goes back to the roads and infrastructure, mmm, now let me see, a slight short fall somewhere - where the fcuk does the rest go? Isn't it about time some of it was used to help us in our time of need? Any one had a reply from Tone or his office yet? I cannot see why the price has got to be so much, one has got to be questioning the oil suppliers and petrol manufacturers - as well as this government - sounds to me like they need some new managers, people that are able to do the job basically. Questions I need answering: Are there no stock piles? to tide them over any hickups. Why should the hurricane in the USA affect our prices so greatly? Has production in that area been so badly affected? Is oil not purchased from the best price source? - like we shop round for best insurance quotes. Does the oil cartel fix the prices? if so how and why is this allowed? Is there no long term financial plans, by the manufacturers, to incorporate plant upgrades - instead of short term gain. Sounds to me like all the excuses for price hikes that the oil and petrol manufacturers keep coming up with are all down to pi*s poor management. We all need to keep bashing away at the government to do something on our behalf, otherwise, as I suggested in my e-mail to Michael Howard, this issue may just be the catalyst for civil unrest,(in some respects I hope it is, then Tone may listen) this government is showing its true colours - a dictatorship of Tax and spending and very little regard for us and what we actually need in our day to day lives. This is the only situation that the employees (this government) do what they want and not what the employer (us) want them too, how does that work then? Wouldn't you just love to be able to go in to work and tell your boss his/her idea was a pile of pants and your going to do your own thing - and, get away with it? Why oh why will they not listen before it's too late? Are their heads so far up their own ar*es that they can't see the woods for the trees? M.
