supra_24
Hi guys, Just wanted to know whether or not the HKS 3.1 engine could be used in a standard TT supra 6 speed with stage 1 clutch? Would it work with the standard twin turbo setup? Or would I need to drastically change anything in order to fit it? Mainly asking as I was considering the swap, but need to know the ins and outs. Also what would a decent standard TT engine fetch money wise? Regards Ash
j_jza80
It would work fine with everything except the stock ecu. It would need a remap, and as the stock ecu cannot be mapped, aftermarket management would be needed.
supra_24
Do you think it's worthwhile? And do you happen to know the cost of an engine swap and what ecu would be required?
abtin90
Do you think it's worthwhile? And do you happen to know the cost of an engine swap and what ecu would be required? Depends how much your paying for it and what your plans are for the car. If your planning on going single I'm the future then it would be a good investment. As for the ecu even a piggyback will be up for the job. Something like a greddy emanage blue or ultimate will suffice. If your after a standalone then apexi power fc and hks fcon are options. If money isn't an issue and your planning on doing a big single build then it maybe worth investing in a syvecs. As I said whether it's worthwhile or not all depends on what your future plans are. j_jza80
I think he means it's 3.1 via overbore, not the hks 3.4 crank. Similar to Steve's Wangan car.
