bayside_supra
Hi people I have an annoying squeak coming from the front right of the car. I recorded a video to see if anyone has heard something similar before. I can hear it on rough roads, and can hear it on cold starts as well sometimes when the engine idles higher so the vibrations are causing it. The camera is right of pointing where it is coming from. Could be something on the front right suspension? The car has coil overs, tein I think. Anyone got any ideas? https://vimeo.com/119907019 Any help would be great. Virus
Never heard it before but my guess would be the dust cover that rattles
mwilkinson
Could be a rubber seal in the door having gone slightly hard and rubbing? Incidentally is that a con light I can see on the dash?
j_jza80
The car has coil overs, tein I think. Anyone got any ideas? Answered your own question. Squeaking is quite common with aftermarket suspension, especially cheaper stuff (like Tein Superstreet)
bayside_supra
Ok il jack the car up and have a look. Am I better off getting some more conventional springs and shocks then coilovers? I am happy with ride hight but the ride is pretty solid with these. Could be a rubber seal in the door having gone slightly hard and rubbing? Incidentally is that a con light I can see on the dash? It is a con light. How do I use it? It effectively gives me auto headlights right?
zaheer0027
i had a knocking noise on my car. Turned out to be coil over spring needed to be tightened . check that maybe
bayside_supra
I'm going to hopefully be fitting arch liners next week so I will have a good look around the suspension. The other day I parked the car and it was squeaking while still, seems to only do it at certain engine revs/idle level, I opened the bonnet to have a look and it stopped as soon as the bonnet popped! Really annoying!

If you have solid gearshift bushes that can give an annoying noise off now and then. Try holding parts of the dash too etc.
bayside_supra
The gearstick has noises all of its own lol. It's definitely coming from the front right of the car so hopefully not that. Thanks for the thought though.
Graham1984
I just listened to that again. Push against the window slightly when it's partly open whilst driving. I wouldn't be too surprised if it's related to that.
bayside_supra
I will give it a try. Thanks a lot
bayside_supra
Just worked this one out. The right headlight was loose!!! Tightened the bolt and it's perfect.
Graham1984
Result. I was regularly driving round holding bits hoping I would find whatever was buzzing that week

If I recall there is an on and off switch on the unit I think it is as basic as that.
