Help with Clifford 650 MK1 Alarm Wiring

I'm trying to figure out where a wire should be going but I'm not really sure how to trace it. I've stripped the tape all off the wires so that I can give a good indication of what wire it is, in case anyone has experience with these alarm systems.

The wire in question belongs to a 3 wire ribbon cable.

Wire1 is the one I'm querying.

Wire2 goes to a fused positive.

Wire3 goes to the bonnet close switch

Wire4 doubles back into the cabin via a 5 wire batch (Wire shown in the second picture along with the rest of the batch)

It appears that it should be connected to the -ive terminal of the battery but I just want to be sure before going ahead with it.

Anyone?

Hmmm I'm a bit confused now. I've actually got an intellistart kit installed as well. According to that I shouldn't be connecting this wire at all, but it was definitely connected previously.

I haven't been able to get the remote start to work either, it's very difficult to diagnose too as there's not very much reading available on the internet. I'm fairly positive it was the injector wire, like you are saying, so I'm going to hook it up to injector 6 positive and see what happens.

Thanks :)

In what way dose the intellistart not work mate? And was it all fitted from new or added later on? Also I take it you have a different engine loom to the last one it was fitted to?

It's a bit of a long story to be honest mate. When I bought the car it had the intellistart and a clifford top of the range alarm installed. I then bought the Clifford 650 and went to a dealer to have it fitted. I asked them to use the intellistart from the old system and they wired it all to suit.

When I try to get it to work now I get 1 flash of the indicators to indicate there's a problem, I'm hoping it may be that there is no tacho speed due to this wire not being connected. I can get the turbo timer function to work no problem.

I've not replaced the engine loom or the dash loom, but I have cut a few of the wires at the engine/sensor side as they were no longer required (Single install). Inside the car I've removed the throttle control ECU.

TBH it's sounding promising that if I connect this wire to the injector then it may solve both issues. I'm thinking that the installer probably just left the previously installed wiring and re-used what they could behind the dash. Rather than starting fresh.

I'll post up my results tomorrow. Thanks very much for your help :)

No problem mate was just asking if the loom was replaced as if its not you should be able to see which wire it was joined to as there will be a splice just after the plug, good luck mate

Yeah, I remember there being a splice. All makes sense :)

I've just realised something else that may be causing hassle (maybe not). For some reason my tacho isn't working. Depending where the fault is, it may be stopping the remote start from seeing the revs. Will see what happens when I splice it in tomorrow :)
