fruity_south
Hi all, i want to change my wheel and tire set up for some drag racing on my supra. these can be ones not for road use. slim on the front, wider on the rear is ideal. currently running UK spec brakes on front and J spec on rear. i believe i can get a 15 inch rim on the rear with big tires with J spec brakes. im struggling to work out the offsets etc. wheels are not my strong point. pedrosixfour
If you don't want to spend a fortune on wheels the stock 16" rims would obviously fit. Some say the stock 16" rears weren't available in anything other than 8" width but I have a pair here 9" wide so that is not the case. Another option is to go for RX7 rims, I know they fit the smaller calipers too but I've no idea what diameter or width they actually are. I can't advise on what tyres are available to suit as drag racing isn't my thing. (Too easy ) There are usually some kind of tyre/rim combos on offer in the sales section, some proper 15" rims too. fruity_south
thanks, i shall have a look around. i dont mind spending the money if i can get a good set up. wheels and tires i have read are one of the most important aspects of drag racing to get right so should have the money invested in them. fruity_south
so another question. i have found some 15 inch 5x114.3 7J wheels on ebay. these would be a good size for the rear wouldnt it?
pedrosixfour
7" would be way too narrow for a Supra.
Style
7J wouldn't get you much in terms of tyre width. You can get another 3 inches of width to fit in the stock arches I think. 10/10.5J is more the number you're after
fruity_south
ok so on rear a 15x114.3 10 or 10.5j or 16x114.3 10 or 10.5j. all these numbers were confusing enough, now were adding letters!
Kaan W
Don't Titan sell a complete drag pack that works with stock arches?

Shane
[/url So this combo on bilsteins and stock springs need a little off the arches, well they did for me.
Chris Bailey
15" is ideal for drag racing, but 16"/17" is also okay. We run 17" Rota GTR's 9.5J with a 275/40/17 Mickey Thompson ET Streets.
