DodgyRog
Got to be worth a few hundred I would guess If I had some spare cash at the moment I would of been interested, but massively over spent already this winter but a plate is the next thing for the Supe I think
ashbuster
thanks bud so if i put it up for £200 that would be a good price?
DodgyRog
If you can do it for £200 I could raise that, so will have it, but not sure how it gets transferred etc

listy
That's a good buy that Rog. I was looking at **** SUP plates on DVLA the other day. Generally go for around £250.
DodgyRog
Have a read through this Ash It makes sense after a few reads lol Print the V317 Application to Transfer or Retain Form and have a browse through it https://www.gov.uk/personalised-vehicle-registration-numbers/transferring-a-registration-number

DodgyRog
hi bud, sorry i was just feeding the little one. ill have a look bud It's fine Ash, I am in know hurry, Supra's in the bodyshop until end of March Looks like there is an £80 transfer fee though, do you want to split the fee
ashbuster
yes bud no worries we can split the fees
DodgyRog
From what I can work out You fill in a V317 and send it to me with the relavent documents, than I fill in my bit, adding my documents and send it all to the DVLA with the Fee Is that how you are reading it
ashbuster
yes mate looks like it what documents do i send bud? is it my logbook? i dont get why we have to fill out a v62 tho
DodgyRog
Looks like you need to include your Reg Doc and Mot Your section is Section 2, so you complete that section and send it all to me I then fill in Section 3 and put my Reg and Mot in with yours and send it all together to DVLA They then do the transfer and send your documents direct to you with your new registration on them and mine come to me with J12 Sup on them Can take upto 4 weeks apparently Your Supra is Taxed and MOT'ed isn't it
ashbuster
no mate my supra has been sorn for a while now
DodgyRog
I think it is fine if yours is SORN Ash, it is only an issue if mine is Can you read through the link I posted and double check I have not miss read anything There is a guide sheet with the V317 form you need to print off as well I need to get off for a bit, I will check back later If everything looks okay when you have read through etc, then send me your PayPal details and I will send you £160 over (£200 minus £40 for half the fees) and give you my Address details via Pm Cheers
ashbuster
ok bud, i just dont get the part about filling a v62 unless we can skip that because we both have our logbooks thanks bud ill pm you now
DodgyRog
I think we don't need to do the V62 bit, that's if you have just purchased the car I think If anyone else has done this, can they confirm we are getting this right
Scott
If a car is sorn I think the plate goes with it. You can only transfer a plate from a car that's been taxed. That was the way I understood it anyway.
RobUK
Doesn't need tax but needs mot from what I remember
Westy
The car that the plate is on must have a valid mot(possibly taxed also) Quickest method Rog would be for you to post all your docs (v5, mot etc) to Ash. Ash could then attend a local DVLA office with all the documents and complete the paperwork all in that same day. Doing it this way means that the turnaround is much much quicker. DodgyRog
Looks like we need to find out about sorn/tax thing Is it MOTed Ash
RobUK
Both must have mot, receiving car must also be taxed. Donor car doesnt need to bectaxed if its vehicle tax has run out in the last 12 months there’s no break between the date the vehicle tax runs out and the start of the SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification)

The 12 month thing. I knew that my plate was invalid now due to the tax, but forgot that it was due to being over 12 months out
