Im not being funny, but thats what 99.9% of new owners say. You can't discount it if you haven't even tried it

 

And yeah I was the same and I'm more than happy with my Auto. Better than you would expect

The late model auto Supras with VVTi are known as Tiptronics, which differ from the earlier auto by having buttons on the steering wheel to shift up and down gears. This system can be modified to accept paddle shifters, which is what I have done. (see the link in my sig. bar)

 

Of course it is still not as involving to drive as a manual, but it is a better car most of the time, especially if used as a daily.

I'm from the midlands too, when i was searching for a Supra i wanted a 6-Speed also, had never owned an auto and kinda looked down them. After searching for ages and nothing coming up i found a really clean facelift Tiptronic fresh import and i have to say i absolutely love my auto box haha It's soooo nice for day to day driving and when u want speed it feels awesome too, definitely try before you knock it.
