JamieP
Should be good for the big power guys. Said to be better than the R888 in every way. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/Toyo-R888R-Launched.htm
j_jza80
Will be interested to see how much they are. The R888 and the T1R became popular because they were much cheaper than the competition.

James
I hope they keep the regular R888 available in 315/30/18 until they release the R888R in that size!
T2 MSW
Looks good hopefully they get the pricing right as that's what has killed the R888 now it's far too much compared to when I was buying them for time attack
ManwithSupra
Was chatting with a representative of Toyo at the Autosport show about the R888R that they had on display. They have had to redesign the Tyre due to legislation change for road use as the old design does not comply now. I also remember him saying there will be two compounds as well, a GG and SG, one for road use (GG) and one which will not be dot marked for pure track use (SG), although since then I have not heard much more about the SG compound apart that they may make the smaller sizes road legal, will have to see. So if you have the R888 already on your car it doesn't comply with the regs now?
ManwithSupra
So if you have the R888 already on your car it doesn't comply with the regs now? Not 100% sure but if the Tyre is dated before the regulation change then its probably going to be fine. It only means Toyo can no longer produce the old design as it does not conform to new guidelines for road legal tyres.

Luxluc
Good news. I hope that wider sizes will be available in the future.

Looks like the GG compound is available in my sizes, will have to check availability as I dont have much left on my current tyres Reading the link above the SG compound is for smaller lighter setups like Caterhams and Westfields The second compound, the R888R SG is only road approved in certain sizes, and is designed for higher grip on lighter cars such as Caterhams and Westfields. Alex
More than a 315? with a sticky tyre...I think I'd hate that for every day use - each to their own though.
Luxluc
Currently, 295 is the widest in 18" when looking at the link. That's not enough
