Scott
I've got an HKS Ti exhaust system. The PITA with this system is that the mating flange for the Vband is a different size from the standard vband flanges you get. I've got the correct size one now, but I'm unsure of how to go about welding it. I could cut off the current flange and then weld on the new one, but this may bring in alignment issues. I was wondering if it would be OK to simply weld the new one on top of the old one? Is this a silly idea or should this be OK? I'm just thinking that the HKS adapter flange would make the exhaust stick out a couple of inches extra, so a half inch wouldn't really make a difference. I was also considering turning down the weld on end of the new flange so that there was less of a difference in height again. I wouldn't be able to go too far though as the vband clamp would possibly foul on the weld. Picture for reference....
