Twin turbo 6 speed manual or single considered

Recommended Posts

Been checking the forum very much lately after a long break away and I'm finally very close to be ready to buy.

Only thing left to do is sell my current car, but before I do that I'm having a full health check with a specialist and get a years warranty put on their as it was rebuilt there and the option is open so hopefully won't be too long now.

Preferably I would love to get a manual 6 speed TT. Or maybe a 5 speed, single but whatever I get has to be a daily reliable driver, With reasonable milage, preferably standard as possible, very good bodywork and interior, basically a solid supra. One I can use as a daily driver without mega bills repairing ect.

Colour I would like to get is either white, quicksilver or gun metal grey. Import better but uk would be considered.

Other things I'd like would be

Year: Not a major priority

Facelift: Would be nice but not fussed

Mileage: Low as possible

MOT remaining: Hopefully a year

Service history: Full

Car's location: Uk

Modifications: Reliable ones

Good bits: Everything

Bad bits: Hopefully none :)

PRICE.. Now I'm hoping to get 11k for mine so that's the range

Please PM for anything else you may need to know

I think with around the £11k you should be in pretty good shape for a very good TT6 but as others mention it may take a while. If you are selling your own car then patience is important so if that's your only car you'll probably need to buy a run around as a stand in. As for Supras as every day cars when I purchased mine it was my only car so I was putting up to 12k miles a year on it so its never a worry even now they are much older beyond how much you'll give its value a hit. I now own 5 cars so the Supra is pretty much retired to sunny days only.

If I was looking to sell my own TT6 with 17 years of service history (as long as I've owned it) I'd be looking to get between £8k and £10k dependent on how desperate I was to sell it and its a totally reliable good one so just sit back and wait. Not for mine though as I'm planning on keeping it until I'm off the mortal coil or it gets written off in an accident or stolen. I figure in 10 years time it'll be worth nearer £20k which is what I paid for it.

Many thanks for your reply, it's nice to here they are so reliable and I've always heard they are great cars I scower the forum all the time and read and read so know quite a bit now but always learning!

At the moment I think I have sourced a supra for myself from a good guy here on the forum and he's in no rush and being very good to me regarding selling my own car then funding..

Will update if anything changes but as it stands I think I've found the one! Won't jump the gun and tell as yet but all seems great and got some time to purchase this one so all good so far.

Many thanks all

Ok I'm back guys, after a while away. currently selling my BMW 135i 3.0 TT convertible now so, Looking for a white manual tt or preferably single 6speed. Hopefully the facelift. Spending around 14k really. In good condition that doesn't need work. With a good hp level and reliably for everyday use! Many thanks.

There's a really nice TT aerotop for sale at the moment that the seller is desperate to sell. It's an auto, but for the amount he's considering taking for it, you could easily afford a 6 speed conversion and you'd still have plenty of change.

It's really hard to say now, given the currency issue and the ever rising prices of these in Japan, but I should think £16k- £18k should be enough, with a bit of luck :)

As you can see looking back on this thread though, prices have shot up, and are only going to keep on rising. Give Jurgen a shout and see what he says :)
