gordy.r
I've noticed my NUR Spec R does not look the shiniest or cleanest in any form. The most I've ever done to it is give it a clean with hot soapy water. Any suggestions for getting it to a show standard?
Morzy2k5
Auto glym metal polish...it is the sh#t lol and gets my kakimoto looking like new!
DodgyRog
I use a Gunk cleaner first to remove the dirt and tar, then Autosol and elbow grease Edited February 8, 2015 by DodgyRog (see edit history)
Marcus GTE
I did mine using autosol metal polish, you can get it in halfords. I also used towel rags and a bit of elbow gease. Smear it on and let it work then buff it off. Works wonders. What's the update with the car mate?
ripped_fear
Use autosol or a polishing compound, then Meguires metal polish. Topped with some poor boys sealant.
Josh
I used clay to get the crap off then metal polish and it looked pristine. That didn't last long though!
Tyson
Another vote for autosol here, after a good few coats all the subsequent dirt sits on top and just wipes away.
ATB
Wash it with brake cleaner and go nuts with metalpolish and it will look like new again
Westy
Get the exhaust off the car mate. Will be far easier and take less time. When I did mine I used my buffing wheel and polishing kit. If doing by hand I'd suggest starting with a wet and dry 2000/1500 grit to remove the dirt and tar contaminants.
gordy.r
Cheers for the replies guys, I can see a busy weekend of cleaning and polishing when I get the car back before DB15! Marcus, it's been at GI Motorsport since end of Oct. not heard anything from them yet, but it's due an MOT in April once all the work is done so fingers crossed it will be all set to go for April / May time. (Might just drop GI a message to confirm lol, also got a few other things I'm looking at doing to the car before summer - coilovers, gauges and mounting pod and UK spec brakes)
