Piran
if you have an import then it's the amplifier for the stereo
Matt Harwood
Or, if it's a UK spec, it could be the seat heater relay... What does it look like?
Steve W
Did NONE of the UK's come with the Sub/Amp set-up ? ?
Matt Harwood
They all did...
Guest Martin F
The amp, not the sub.

Steve W
They had the AMP ! for the standard speakers ? ? ? What the FUDGE for ? ? Was the standard head-unit THAT low-powered ? ? It doesn't take much power to OVER-power the std' speakers. (I had a Sony double-din in it when I bought it - that wasn't TOO powerful and made the speakers distort something chronic if it went over ~2/3rds !) I can understand it for the (PISSY) sub, but why for the normal speakers ?
Matt Harwood
As far as I'm aware, all Mkiv's have an amp as standard. The amp for the GZ is HUGE!. Unfortunatly, having an external amp doesn't make it good But then, not everyone is into their audio. I'm suprised that with all the effort Toyota put into weight reduction, they still used an external amp...

Well, at least the weight is a bit closer to the centre of the car James.
Steve W
Perhaps they decided that WITHOUT it, it left far too much room for luggage - couldn't have THAT so filled the space with yet another box-of-wires ! ! might ask in 'Technical', but, : Why is it the Supra has a HUGE arse-end but such a miniscule hatch area ? ? Is it rear suspension layout, or, rear-diff'/axle ? When I've crawled under the back there seems to be a large-ish 'hollow' under where the original 'sub' was ie 'wasted' space ? ? It's not even like we've got an overly large fuel tank !

Tell me about it, many a times I have inspected the rear, and what a large rear it is to, look in hatch, no depth, stick your head under the back, and I just cant figure whats using that space, I reckon there's just a hole in the middle of the car......
