Grasmt
Im starting my DragonBall check list and wondering if someone can tell me if there is a way of checking if the oil and water pumps need changed. I have no issues with either (yet) but the engine i now have in the car had sat for 4 years un-started, changed the oil and filter and it did 5k miles last year with no issues at all. Would it be worth changing them along with the belt and possibly other parts ,depending on condition, now or wait till next winter when i plan to fully rebuild the engine? Scott
Water pump is a very straight forward replacement. Oil pump is a subframe off PITA. If you're worried about it, get a water pump and keep it in the boot with a socket set.... in case you get caught short. However, I wouldn't fix that which isn't broken
Grasmt
Thats not a bad idea keeping one in the boot. The engine holds pressure really well and it didnt have many miles on it when it was put in. Think ill keep the fingers crossed for this year then get it out and replace the lot next year. Guest RichardRobinson
Yes, it worth changes, if it is not working you should change this. I think you should take a help from local car Mechanic, he can suggest you if there is a chance to keep old one or you need to replace it completely with belt and other parts.
