bananasupra
Hi guys I have a N/A Supra !!! I started my car this morning and I realised that my RPM was sitting under 900rpm and every time I try to move I got lots of back fire and strong smell of petrol and lack of power and it keep turning off. Thank you John
Graham1984
I had similar symptoms when my Mines ecu played up. I was driving along fine, then the red warning light came on and it struggled to maintain revs etc, even under throttle power and was running rough with a jumpy idle. Does it struggle to even turn over without your foot on the accelerator?
bananasupra
Hi Graham1984 Basically if I don't give gas it doesn't turn over !! I hope that helps and appreciate your help Thank again John
Graham1984
Due to the time of year the cold 'may' be making it play up. I've currently got the in car door locks locking, but not unlocking, cold issue If you get a spare moment remove the ecu (passenger footwell) and check it's done up tight/check for damp/condensation etc. Being old it could be a simple dry solder joint or the aforementioned..... along with another issue. I was lucky as I kept my stock ecu when I brought the mines, when mine did this I swapped it over and thankfully everything's been fine since. Is there anyone local that would let you try their ecu out to rule it out as a potential problem?
