johnny g
Yea, I've read it's something to do with Secondary Impact Syndrome. In patients who sustains a second concussion when the first one has not fully healed, the brain loses its ability to auto regulate intracranial and cerebral perfusion pressure. This may lead to cerebral edema (severe swelling of the brain) and possible brain herniation. Loss of consciousness after the initial injury followed by secondary brain damage creates ionic fluxes, acute metabolic changes, and cerebral blood flow alterations. All of these characteristics enhance the vulnerability of the brain and greatly increase the risk of death, even if the second injury was far less intense. Alonso has been declared fit and able to race, I believe it was Alonso's personal physicians who've advised him to sit the first race out. jimojameso
Correct it's secondary impact syndrome they are worried about and yes KMAG is being put in the car instead
Alex
I think he's being sensible. The likelyhood of a DNF is very high. So why risk another bump on the noggin after the last caused amnesia. It's funny that KMag gets the chance to repeat his Oz heroics again after all the to and fro about him vs. button!!

Alex
What's the blue rectangle on top? Seems an odd location for the MGU-H to be...I wonder if thermal soak is hitting reliability right now.
Marcus GTE
Kinda respect honda for not copying Mercedes. There is a gap between the turbo though so they have taken notice.

Nic
Seems an odd location for the MGU-H to be... I wonder if they've packaged it together like that with the thought of developing the same turbo technology for their road cars.
imi
Could this be true? http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/formulaone/article4373371.ece http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/motorsport/formulaone/11451953/Fernando-Alonso-thought-he-was-in-1995-after-pre-season-crash.html
Swampy442
Very true, theres a risk of secondary amnesia apparently, and some sort of '21 day rule' Given Adelaide is a street circuit the risks of more G forces to the dome are pretty high
