Hey guys I was wondering if you guys would recommend getting a boost cut controller or a fuel cut defencer for a jdm 2jz and if you prefer one over the other? Also if I only wanted to run 12-14pounds of boost do I need one or would I just need to install stock USDM spec turbo setup?

We'll I wouldn't mind running only 1bar maybe a little less. But right now I have a restrictor ring installed right after the down pipe and seems like it's only pushing like 4pounds of boost. Did I install restrictor ring in wrong spot?

So do I maybe have the restrictor ring maybe too small? Also if I were to install usdm turbos and take restrictor ring out should it boost up normally close to 1 bar without a fcd installed?

You dont need a restrictor with US turbos thats right, sounds like you have an issue somewhere causing the low boost though. What size is the restrictor, 2"?

Yeah I believe the restrictor ring was 2" but it was a little off center. So might even be a bit less. If I wanted to only run 10-14 pounds of boost I wouldn't need a boost cut controller or fuel cut defender either if I installed usdm turbos than would I? Just if I wanted to push more than 14 pounds?
