Scott
Wow sorry mate foreign language. Appreciate your patients though. Have moved the black and white over but still nothing Black and red? You need to move the black plug and the red plug into the other 2 connections.

Sorry yeah the black and red, have moved them over. Still nothing. I hate wiring Dont know if it makes a difference what pre out it is in on the stereo itself? I would suggest looking into getting a different amp though, a mono or 2 channel amp would be better for that sub - - - Updated - - - Sorry yeah the black and red, have moved them over. Still nothing. I hate wiring Dont know if it makes a difference what pre out it is in on the stereo itself? What options do you have at the rear? Sub out or rear out is the one you want. You might need to enable the pre-out in the stereo settings.
ripped_fear
Will I need that before it will work then? Will grab a picture of the back of the hu now. Have enabled the sub option on the options.
Scott
Will I need that before it will work then? Will grab a picture of the back of the hu now. Have enabled the sub option on the options. If you have enabled the sub option, you need to have it connected to the "Sub out" pre-out. Whether that's a sub out pre-out on its own or the rear output will be down to the headunit spec. You don't need those before it will work bud, you only need those to have it wired like you initially did

Scott
Change the phase to "normal" 100hz is fine for the cut off. I doubt that will fix it but I'm still going through it. I take it the other speakers are working fine? Could you let me know what settings are on the control knobs on the amp itself.
ripped_fear
Yeah have tried it on normal. Everything else working nicely. Will look at the knobs tomorrow have washed my hands of it for tonight. Thanks for all the help so far.
Scott
No worries mate. Ps did you check the fuses on the speaker?
ripped_fear
Yeah all four on the sub are fine and the two on the amp are all good to.

ripped_fear
Yeah at this rate I may. Seems odd to me even though my knowledge on the subject is poor. Even is the knobs are all over the place would it not be normal to hear the sub doing something. Hate leaving jobs half done.
Scott
Yeah at this rate I may. Seems odd to me even though my knowledge on the subject is poor. Even is the knobs are all over the place would it not be normal to hear the sub doing something. Hate leaving jobs half done. It's unusual but not impossible. My thinking is that if the headunit is filtering the audio to play only LP through the pre-out and your amp is set to filter the audio to only play HP then you'll be left with no sound. The amp you are using is a 4 channel amp. It's likely that it was configured for door/car speakers rather than subwoofers so it's possible that it was set to hpf previously. ripped_fear
Ok I have tried the switches on the amp still no joy. here are a few pictures that may help. Surely this has to be somthing simple? The blue bit of wire on the sub to amp is no different to the red is it?
Scott
Blue wire is no different bud, it's just for visual recognition. I've just noticed something though. Take out the 2 little links from the speaker

Scott
Will try removing them tomorrow. Got to spend one night in the house and not the garage Thanks matey It'll take you 2 minutes. I'm positive that's the reason it's not working. Little error by myself there
ripped_fear
R1(SUB) to W2(SUB) R4(SUB) to W3(SUB) Removed these. Still no joy.
Scott
I'll need to think about this one bud. I definitely can't think of anything obvious now. I'll download the spec for the speaker and see if there's anything strange about the dual voice coils.
ripped_fear
OK thank you mate. Really wish I hadn't started it.
Scott
Don't worry about it bud, it's just hard to follow with the way you wanted to do it. I've now did a wiring diagram that I can follow in my head with ease. A1 - R1 W1 - R3 W3 - A2 The above is what you need to have the voice coils in series. The 8 connections and the A's, W's and R's had my brain confuzzy Edit: That's how it's done
ripped_fear
Will try that tonight. Thanks again. Fingers crossed this time. Can get it all fitted permanently hopefully.
